To this day QV1 remains one of Australia’s most iconic and beautiful office buildings. The brief was to activate the QV1 Lobby by creating a third space for building tenants and the public, by providing a range of space types and amenity that would speak to its design heritage with evolved timelessness and added warmth.
Due to QV1’s architectural heritage it was imperative that Harry Seidler & Associates were engaged as the design lead, however QV1 requested an independent Interior Design firm for the QV1 Lobby design, which led to the engagement of Plus Architecture. The dual design approach added complexity to the project, requiring strong leadership from the Project Management team to ensure all Stakeholders were aligned and roles and responsibilities were clearly defined.
Market conditions at the time of procurement resulted in an increased level of value management and cost control, while ensuring the quality outcomes were not compromised.
The project scope included removal and infill of an escalator to the executive car park, relocation of the then anchor Tenant’s dedicated Concierge Desk and construction of a new QV1 Concierge Desk and Café.
With our team’s attention to detail and dedication to achieving an exceptional outcome, we worked closely with the QV1 Owners, QV1 Management, Harry Seidler and Associates, Plus Architecture and the broader consultant team to deliver what we believe to be an exceptional outcome.
