Coal LSL has experienced significant growth over the past few years which has seen their headcount grow from approximately 60 in December 2018 to 141 in February 2021.

Coal LSL is the Australian Government corporation that handles long service leave entitlements for those in the black coal mining industry.

Having experienced significant growth in recent years, which has seen their headcount over triple in size, Coal LSL recognised that they required a new premises that would enable their team to work more effectively, while creating a space that strengthens staff engagement and satisfaction, all while optimising individual and organisational performance.

The challenge

When Acuity were engaged to manage the design and construction of Coal LSL’s new office fit-out, some of the challenges included:

  • Commitment to an extremely tight program
  • Extensive governance requirements
  • Management of the project throughout pandemic shutdowns

Our solution

Acuity brought out extensive project and program experience to ensure a successful project was delivered on time and within budget to a very happy client.

Acuity established weekly steering group meetings to ensure swift decisions and approvals were provided throughout all stages of the project along with daily oversight of the program and consultants. Strong governance management was a main focus and was integral to the seamless delivery of all facets of the construction.
