APA Brisbane

APA are a leading energy infrastructure business, with a purpose to strengthen communities through responsible energy. They are listed on the ASX and own and/or operate a $21 billion portfolio of gas, electricity, solar and wind assets around Australia.

With their existing lease expiring in Spring Hill, APA entered an agreement to lease two floors in Mirvac’s new office development at 80 Ann Street, Brisbane. APA engaged Precinct Workplace Strategist to explore ways to improve the use of its office space and ensure the premises can support the way APA works now and into the future.

The challenge

Acuity were engaged as the Project Manager to oversee the project from inception to completion. Acuity were part of the premises selection team, then took over to manage the design development, procurement, and construction phases of the project. The priority was to ensure the premises can support the way APA works now and into the future.

The main challenges were:

  • Managing a project team through the significant
    disruption of COVID-19
  • Mitigating delays from supply chain disruptions
  • Translating the data-based Workplace Strategy into a function user centric design

Our solution

Once the team was established we jointly agreed on a detailed programme and business engagement strategy. Once this was agreed we set about in translating the workplace strategy into a design which could be progressively signed off by the various business units within APA.
