The project had been designed and FKG had been appointed on an ECI basis prior to the appointment of Acuity. Our role was to deliver the project on behalf of National Storage.
What was to be a largely straight forward project required careful management by Acuity. We were required to manage a number of issues throughout construction including; decontamination, latent site conditions, sustained periods of wet weather, rising construction costs and changes in the subcontractor market.
Additionally, the project included a BP service station and toward the end of the program we suffered delays as a result of equipment not being available to facilitate the opening prior to Christmas 2021.
With a clear understanding of the executed Construction Contract, by understanding our clients’ needs and the needs of BP we were able to manage the project and ensure our clients was not unnecessary at risk of either time or cost.
Working with the operational teams of both National Storage and BP we were able to manage their expectations and ensure the openings of both facilities was ultimately executed without any issues.
