Havas Group, a global communications company, moved into a 5,100 sqm large workspace at the heritage listed ‘Bushell’s Tea’ Building (b. 1924) in The Rocks, Sydney.

The design by Hammond Studio demonstrates how innovative and sympathetic design can celebrate history and significance whilst delivering a modern and creative workspace. Predominantly designed as open workspaces, any new partition locations were carefully considered and new enclosed spaces were designed as freestanding timber pavilions. Existing heritage lift shafts and tea silos were sympathetically re-imagined as meeting spaces ensuring low to no intervention in their original design. Award Winner 2019, Master Builders Association: Best Restoration/Adaptive Re-use of an Historic Building.
